Organization – History
Founded by Pastor Nikiema Kouliga Michel in February 1996, Vigilance was born from the will of God. Identifying the rising threat of HIV/AIDS in his homeland, this servant recognized the call and seized the opportunity to take action. At the foundation of Vigilance is the discovery that the solution to the AIDS crisis relies on more than the medical field, but on the very foundation of our society relating to spiritual enlightenment, social equality, and moral values. The organization relies on a global network of people who embrace the mission of Vigilance and support its operations in a variety of disciplines; doctors, educators, youth mentors, church leaders, financial administrators, herbalists, politicians, donors, and citizen advocates.
