Organization – Mission

Vigilance is a Christian humanitarian NGO based in the West African nation of Burkina Faso that works to fight the pandemic of HIV/AIDS. The mission of Vigilance is to bring those infected and affected by AIDS out of the darkness and into the light. We believe that the Church is the source of transmission for God’s love and compassion through Jesus Christ. The devastation caused by the AIDS epidemic serves as an opportunity for followers of Christ to lead by example.

The organizations primary objective is to limit new transmissions by informing the population about the dangers of the disease, teaching life skills to reduce risk factors, and working to eliminate the historical stigmatization related to the HIV/AIDS. We provide medical care for the general population, primarily those infected or affected by the disease, and palliative care for the dying. We work to raise awareness about the pandemic disease, enable leaders in our community, and create an effective global network of support for our mission.
